First couple married in WDW Wedding Pavilion

Saturday, July 15, 1995

On July 15, 1995, Disney’s Wedding Pavilion opened its doors at the Walt Disney World Resort.

The non-denominational chapel is located on a private island, near the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon and close to the Magic Kingdom. The Pavilion has a Victorian inspired look, perfectly matching the exterior of the neighboring Disney’s Grand Californian Resort & Spa.

The classic Victorian Summerhouse features (amongst other things) a beautiful organ and a private Groom’s Room and Bridal Vestibule. Disney’s Wedding Pavilion offers beautiful photo locations, with breath-taking views of Disney’s Polynesian Resort and Cinderella Castle.

The chapel can be booked through Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons program. It is available for a maximum of 250 persons and can host up to five ceremonies a day.

Over the past 17 years, thousands of couples got married in Disney’s Wedding Pavilion... and they all lived happily ever after!
